Returns Policy – Faulty Items (UK Customers)

We want you to love your purchase. If something isn’t right, we’ll do our best to put it right quickly and fairly.

What Counts as a Faulty Item?

An item may be considered faulty if it:

  • Arrives damaged or defective

  • Doesn’t work as described

  • Develops a fault within a reasonable time despite normal use (6 months for most products)

This doesn’t include damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or not following care instructions.

Your Rights Under UK Law

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you’re entitled to the following:

  • Within 30 days of delivery:
    You have the right to reject faulty goods and receive a full refund.

  • After 30 days:
    You’re entitled to a repair or replacement.
    If a repair or replacement isn’t possible, or isn’t successful, you may be entitled to a refund (or partial refund, depending on use).

These rights apply regardless of our own returns policy.

How to Report a Fault

Please contact us as soon as you notice the issue by emailing orders@eatingwiththekids.com and include:

  • Your order number

  • A brief description of the fault

  • Clear photos or videos showing the problem

This helps us resolve things as quickly as possible.

Returning Faulty Items

  • Once your claim is approved, we’ll explain the next steps for returning the item.

  • Where an item is confirmed as faulty, we’ll cover the return postage costs.

  • We may need to inspect the item before confirming a refund, repair, or replacement.

Refunds

  • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method.

  • Once agreed, refunds are processed within 14 days, in line with UK consumer law.

Exclusions

  • This policy applies only to faulty items.

  • Gift cards and digital products are non-returnable unless faulty.

  • Sale items have the same rights as full-price items when faulty.

Changed your mind? No problem — we understand that sometimes things just don’t work out.

Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your items, for any reason.

How to Request a Return

To start a return, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at orders@eatingwiththekids.com with:

  • Your order number

  • The item(s) you’d like to return

Once you’ve let us know, you’ll have a further 14 days to send the item back to us.

Conditions for Returns

To be eligible for a change-of-mind return:

  • Items must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition

  • Original packaging, labels, and tags should be intact where possible

  • Items should be returned in a resaleable condition

We reserve the right to refuse a refund if items are returned damaged or used.

Return Postage

  • For change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for return postage costs, unless stated otherwise.

  • We recommend using a tracked service, as we can’t be responsible for items lost in transit.

Refunds

  • Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll process your refund within 14 days.

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

  • Original delivery charges will be refunded only if required by law (standard delivery costs).

Items That Can’t Be Returned

For hygiene and safety reasons, or where legally exempt, we can’t accept returns for:

  • Personalised or made-to-order items

  • Sealed items that have been opened and can’t be returned for hygiene reasons

  • Digital products once downloaded

  • Gift cards

(These exclusions do not affect your rights if an item is faulty.)

Delivery

All UK orders over £50 for Eating with the Kids products are shipped free of charge and are sent Royal Mail second class. Some products by other brands have a £3.50 postage fee added.

International postage costs are calculated at the checkout. We are not currently shipping to the EU, but are hoping to resume this shortly.

All orders are despatched within 3-5 days.
